The Aramis Laboratory Animal Microtattoo System is a quick, efficient and affordable method of permanently identifying laboratory animals (particularly mice and rats as early as 1 day old).
Designed and tested by laboratory animal technicians, the system utilizes a hypodermic needle at one end of a stainless steel forcep and a small metal cup containing Ketchum Green Tattoo Paste at the other side of the forcep. By squeezing the forcep together, the needle penetrates the toe/foot pad, ear or tail of the animal and injects a deposit of green paste in the animal. Paste now available in white.
The Aramis Microtattoo System includes:
- 2 Hypodermic Needles
- 1 Plated Steel Microtattoo Forceps
- 1 oz. of Green Tattoo Paste
- 1 Aluminum Planchette
- 1 Storage Case
The needle penetrates the ear, footpad or toe of the animal by squeezing the forceps and injects injecting green tattoo paste into the animal. Using a grid location pattern allows you to use a numbering system that extends over 1 million.
The microtattoo system is safe and humane and is in compliance with regulatory agencies for use oin animal labslaboratory. Instructions are included.
